Soften the Edge: Return to What’s Real
Can you believe we’re already in May? For many, this month signals the rush toward summer—vacation plans, shifting routines, the longing for rest (whether or not it actually arrives).
But here’s what I’m holding close as we enter the summer months —you and I aren’t pressing pause on the inner work just because the days get longer and the kids are home. We’re staying in it — the real work of tending to what matters, honoring what’s sacred, and remembering who we are beneath the noise.
This month, I want to invite you to return to yourself gently—not the version shaped by comparison, “shoulds,” or old stories, but the deeper you—the one still whispering for your attention.
If you’ve been shrinking in the shadow of someone else’s light, feeling like you’re behind or wondering why things feel hard for you when they seem easy for others, this is your reminder: you are carrying your own sacred rhythm. And you were never meant to match anyone else’s pace.
✨ I’ve written more on returning through comparison in this week’s blog — you can read it here if you feel called to explore this more deeply. ✨
For now, I invite you to journal with me this week:
Where have I been measuring my worth against someone else’s life, and what do I want to reclaim for myself this month?
You don’t need a vacation to reclaim your energy. You need presence. You need space to listen. You need permission to hold your own calm rhythm.
Here’s where we softly stop shrinking, so we can rise to greater heights of love and life.
With heart, Rikki
P.S. If something stirs as you reflect, I’d love to hear it. Hit reply and share what’s rising — I’m here, and I read every note.
